I meet her in September last year during Landskrona Photo Festival – where they showed some or her images on big billboards out in the jetty around our castle.graafland-1

Out of Continuum

Her photographs are records of her highly choreographed live performances in the salt deserts of Bolivia, the Canadian and Finnish Arctic, and rural China. Fascinated by the surreal beauty of the harsh natural landscape she utilises this as her canvas.

Wrapped

She had her exhibition LOOK COOK LOOK! at Landskrona Art Gallery in October last year and when I had some girlfriend visiting me the show and we all fell in love her art.

I took a lot more images of her art, but with the canvases covered with glass … and all the reflections because of that – it didn’t turn out to be that many I can use.

Her latest exhibitions have been in;

Valkhof Museum, Nijmegen
Landskrona Museum, Sweden
Beirut Exhibition Center, Lebanon
Museum of Photography, Seoul Hanmi Tower
Vous Etes Ici Gallery, Amsterdam
Piet Hein Eek Galerie, Eindhoven
MOCCA museum, Toronto
Huis Marseille Museum, Amsterdam
Museo Nacional de Arte La Paz, Bolivia

And she has published 6 books with the  most magical image; I just had to buy Soft Horizons.

Shores Like You
Unlikely Landscape
Scarlett HG in Altiplano
Soft Horizons
Instant Sculpture

Scarlett’s project for this year has been in United Emirates – where this image is from. It’s called “Dunes like you”

I hope that I will come across Scarlett again somewhere in the world – because I think she provides pure magic.

Of course, there was time over for my girlfriends and me to enjoy cup coffee and a piece of cake at the gallery’s cafe.

the photographer and the viewer.”

  1. I remember those images from your previous post. This is a beautiful collection, although half of me thinks “leave the natural world to be itself.” I still relish her interventions and impositions. Thank you.

    • Mag, I think she add to beautiful surrounding she have been working with. She use local people and add color to bare nature. We can’t love everything that we see…
At least she have mad some kind of impact on you because you remember the jetty images. *laughing
