I’m so bad on passing on awards, love being a nominee and getting awards, but so bad on the rest – promised myself that I will carry “Blog of The Year 2012” through.
And I have got 3 more stars, 2 first I got from Malin@Frankfurt Malin and Terry@Terry 1954 a couple of weeks ago – now I got my 4th from one of my “silent” friends here – don’t even know this ladies name; “silentlyheardonce” – and I know very little about her, but she are faithful to my world here and that she visit and take part in it nearly every day. Thank so much.
Malin are Swedish, but living in Frankfurt – she just became mum to a little girl (now mother of 2) and her profession is opera singer.
Terry are a fantastic woman that for years has taken care of her brother Al, that has Parkinson’s, but now she start to get her own life back.

Viveka, Thanks for the like on my blog. Very interesting reading your blog and some of the comments. Also interesting, I can share with you that my dad came over on the boat from Sweden when he was 6 months old with of course his mom and dad. My grandfather was from Eksjo and my grandmother from Vimmerby. Last name was Carlson, however my grandfather kept the last name of the man he bought the ticket from and register that way when they arrived at Ellis Island. They ended up renting an apartment at Clark and Foster in Chicago. My grandfather had two uncles who were already here in the US, all carpenters. So, he was able to get some work right away.
Wow … that a story – your family comes from county Småland – witch more or less totally immigrated to US once. It was a very poor county because the soil wasn’t suitable for farming, only stones.
Chicago – my number ONE city in the world .. visited this summer again. Just love it more and more for every visit I do. James, nice meeting you.
Congratulations Viveka! You deserve everyone of those stars 🙂 And thank you so much for the nomination. I am pretty bad myself…am sitting on several at the moment!
Thank you so much …. this with awards can be a curse too. *smile. Some we have to give half our lives away to pass on.
Congratulations Viveka how wonderful for you, and thank you so much for nominating me.
My pleasure is all mine, Leanne – I really enjoy visiting your corner of our world.
