easter journey – but not on a broom

On Easter Thursday .. all witches in Sweden flies on a broom to “Blåkulla”- Blåkulla is a where Satan lives *smile – accordantly to Swedish folklore. Where thinking about it, but I went to mum instead.

Landskrona station lays only 9.9mtr over the sea level. All railway stations in Sweden has that information on its building. Why I don’t know, but I will find out. So where I live is it very flat – no hills – nothing, that is one of the reason why most commuters goes on a bike.

So yesterday, was it time again to travel over to mum. Fantastic weather, but the air was very chilly – people sat everywhere with their faces against the sun. We have had beautiful weather for nearly 14 days – the spring is far too early this year, nearly 4 weeks.

For yesterday’s journey I took most pictures around Landskrona station, that lays outside the center. When they rebuilt the new West coast railway line for the direct connection between Gothenburg and Copenhagen – they could’t have the train going into the old station and then back out again, not a through station and it would have made the journey time much longer. Then they built the new station along  the straight railway line. Our station is also a supermarket, very clever. The provide you with whatever you need for your traveling and waiting room. It’s the biggest supermarket chain, ICA that owns the station. Also very convenient for all the commuters that they  can shop before when they comes of the train and before jumping on the bike. Not my favorite shop, but it have saved “my day” countless timesSo Easter starts today and last until Tuesday for us, so that mean that those that wanted beer, snaps and wine for the weekend had to buy it yesterday. In Sweden we can’t buy alcohol in supermarket, not even wine and beer – anything stronger then 3,5% we have to go to  government owned liquor shop – Systembolaget – and so the their shop opposite Lund’s Bus station where absolutely mobbed yesterday. We Swedes don’t miss a good chance to drink and Easter is one of them. For us Easter is pickled herring in plenty and boiled eggs, Jansson’s temptation, herring, egg – and for that we need beer and snaps. Later in the evening we like our Gin & Tonic or Rum & Cola. 

Travelled the same departure as the last two times .. and what a different when I reached Simrishamn, full sunshine and bright. Where even able to take a photo of blooming tulips. And it’s was full moon again.
The reason is mostly because we in Europe put the clock forward one hour – the last Saturday in March. So our days are going to be longer, but also the days has in themselves become a lot only.
