Strangely enough I don’t have any images either pale or on pile …. except one image – at least I can’t find any, except one. So one it is and it will represent both!
A couple of years ago when I passed a bakery in Istanbul … this pale pile was calling out my name through the shop window and of course I bought some.!!!! I can tell you they were good enough to eat: salted pistachio meringues
“So many self-help ideas are like meringue – you take a big bite, and there’s nothing there.” Deborah Norville
A great photo, and very much ‘you’ to have a food related photo! They look delicious, and I also enjoy that quote about self-help, it resonates (I find self-help books very interesting, but it’s often difficult to stay with it, or to make profound change).
I hope you are doing well!
Gunilla … I don’t even think I have seen a self-help book. I probably should get one, because I had a tough time with my health and it has started to break me down mentally lately. Cry a lot – I went through a tough cancer journey and I never cried. Of course, COVID-19 doesn’t help the situation … miss my travel. Feel trapped with my issues.
I’m hoping that there will be a change for me … have my first flight booked on the 6th of October to Tbilisi. I need desperately to be on the flight. *laughing
Since I live in the Land of Pavlova meringue is a constant inhabitant in this house . . . but your ‘pile’ is enticing . . . may just look for a recipe if time allows . . . oh: that same ‘monster’ which is making letters so late 🙂 ! As far as travel is concerned we in Australia were told yesterday the probable earliest allowed date would be March next year ! Actually I fully agree with that . . . shall explain later . . .
Eha, love Pavlovas … !!!! The chewier the better. I think the EU will be up in the air a little earlier than that … so soon the got the health passport sorted. I really hope so, but I’m in desperate need of a change of venue.*laughing. Tbilisi, Poznan and Istanbul … hope to see you at the end of the year. *smile
Greetings Vivi – it occurred to me for some reason I’d not seen your name lately so I searched and am glad to see you are still blogging and perhaps more importantly still enjoying things like these beautiful little treats! Hope you are well, thinking of you. Tina
I had the same reaction as Tina. I missed hearing from you and checked your blog daily. I even re-followed on a new account, just to make sure I wouldn’t miss any of your posts. Glad you’re here. I want to eat meringue. Hmmm. When I get to Europe again, I will go FIRST to Sweden. Then Belfast, cause I wrote down all your restaurant recommendations.
Thank … you so much! I’m still here, but with difficulties – but hopefully, they will ease off. Your words mean a lot to me. You’re so well come to Sweden, we are waiting for you. *smile And I want to go to Belfast too … to get a piece of the good life again. Don’t give up on me, I will be back in full force again. *smile

Hi there, Tina … thank you so much for caring. It’s not that I don’t want to blog … it’s that because of medical and health reason I can sit down for a very short time (my sorry ass). I had 2 months of terrible pain and I don’t really know what to do with myself. Seeing a new doctor tomorrow, but I know it is very little they can do. Its nerve damage after the radio therapy.
Hopefully, I will be back and I also struggle with the new editor – even if I keep using the classic it’s not the same and I need to get my head around it. Otherwise, I’m fine. And thanks again for your thoughts and caring. I’m still alive and kicking.
That is excellent news Vivi – although I’m so sorry to hear about the pain. (although I did have to laugh at your “sorry ass” 😊. I hope the new doctor is able to help. I agree whole-heartedly about the new editor as, it seems, does everyone else. Sigh – I’ve moved to it now but still have my struggles as well. Hang in there, it gets a bit easier I promise. Miss you and hope to e-see more of you soon!
Hi, Tina … I got a new medicine and it has come down a bit … I’m going to increase the strengths every week for 5 weeks. It seems to help my feet more than my “sorry ass”. It’s allowed to laugh, it makes you live longer. I will be back, but I need to get my mojo back. Miss you girls too .. A LOT!!!!! *love
Oh your pile of pales is perfect for this week 😀
Cee … thank you so much! Less is more maybe!!! *smile
