“If you can see it, you can shoot it.”
Ted Grant

“Desserts are like mistresses. They are bad for you.
So if you are having one, you might as well have two.”
Alain Ducasse

I’m what they call in the UK, a pudding girl. I look at the dessert menu first. Cakes and dessert … what would life be without them??? Very boring for sure.

*8 – A favourable number, associated with prosperity.

Have stayed in so many hotels … but very seldom in rooms that contain an eight, but I found 3 on file. Room 819 I stayed in at Omena Hotel in Stockholm … for my fantastic evening with Michael Buble at Ericsson Globe Arena.

*8  – Number of the balance and of the cosmic order, according to the Egyptians.

3814 at the Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront in Chicago … a marvellous upgrade on arrival. from a standard twin room to twin bed suite on the 38th floor with 180 degree’s view over Chicago. Today permanent closed. How sad., such an outstanding and lush hotel.

*The Beijing Olympics began on 8/8/08 at 8 seconds and 8 minutes past 8 pm.

In 2016 was I invited to two weddings in Kosovo – and after that adventure, before I returned home I stayed 5 nights in the capital Prishtinë and I stayed at  VERY friendly and homely Hotel Prima in room 108. In total the most fantastic adventure.

“All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast.”
John Guntherhe

The most important meal of the day for me is breakfast … and when travelling breakfast is always an adventure, because every country has their breakfast setups.

  1. 🙂 Hehehe, that sounds familiar. I always check out the desert menu first, too. Have a terrible sweet tooth and your food photos make me peckish (and a bit hungry as well).
    Many hugs xoxoxo
    Claudia 🙂

    • Dia, that is why we get along so well. *laughing .. a fantastic dinner without a dessert … I can’t even imaging it. How boring. *laughter and all those FAB cakes in Vienna. I miss them, you, Carol and Robert. Miss terrible. HugHUG!!!

  2. Thank goodness those were only virtual calories, but what a delicious selection. I love breakfast as well, though I usually have “only” homemade granola with either milk or plain yogurt and if yogurt, with berries if possible, a bit of honey, cinnamon, and often morninga powder. But sometimes I make pancakes instead.

    • Janet … American pancakes with bacon, poached egg and maple syrup … that is very close to heaven for me. I can treat myself for dinner. Breakfast when travelling I think is such a treat … just be spoiled of choices. Especially in Europe with big buffets. Oh, I can’t wait to get out there again. I hope that my trip to Tbilisi will happen at the beginning of October. I need to spread my wings now. Have a pleasant Thursday! *smile

      • I hope we can all get out and about again. Fortunately for me, a trip to southern California to visit our daughter and son-in-law can be done because I can drive it. I also now have my second vaccination so in two weeks I should be good to go–literally–whenever they’re ready for company. Can’t wait!!

      • Great news that you have got your first jab … I think I will have mine in the end of this month. They have started with +80 now … so I’m in the next group. They are talking about that EU will come up with a vaccine pass that we should have in our passport or digtal on the phones, when we travel – because they will requre prof on that we have been vaccinated when travel inside EU first of all. I’m planning a Christmas in Istanbul this year … have booked hotel … looking in using up vouchers for the flight. I’m like you … can’t wait. *smile

      • I think all flying is likely to be that way, so I’m taking a photo of my vaccination card to keep on my phone as well as keeping the card. I have both my shots, but my husband got his first today. He got Pfizer, so he gets his second in three weeks. I got Moderna, so I had to wait four weeks between shots. But it’s done!!

      • Janet, fantastic news that you both have got your first jabs. Still waiting for mine. We don’t get any Pfizer or Moderna just now – export/import problems for EU – vaccines should just be delivered … the whole world needs it. Why so much bureaucracy. In Europe the vaccination card isn’t enough … because it’s not personalised – you can just borrow anybodys. At least they aren’t personalised and they are easy to fake. Hopefully, I will be in the air 6th of October.

      • I hope you’ll be flying by then, too, Vivi. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law in France we scheduled for shots later this month but she’s worried now that because of the AstraZenica issues they might not be able to get them. I agree that everyone everywhere should be able to get vaccinated and hopefully that will happen sooner rather than later. I’d love to be able to visit your side of the ocean again soon, too.

  3. Delightful photos to enjoy ! Just as well as I definitely am not a ‘pudding girl’ !! As a matter of fact don’t think I have had dessert for at least a year or two 🙂 ! But have also been in many, many hotel rooms – altho’ ‘4’ and multiples it are considered my ‘lucky’ numbers . . . honestly don’t remember how often they may have come up on hotel keys . . . . fun and thank you !

    • Eha, I started to take photos of my room keys or number quite a few years ago, but I don’t think I have them all on file. It was just a thing, same as I always toke a hanger if there was an owner name on it. Never taken tools …or robes. Only a little naughty. Same I always take photos of taxi signs where ever I go. So I’m a bit of a collector. Not a pudding girl … lady, you don’t know what you’re missing. *laughing. I have dessert every day, ice cream preferably here at home or … a thick natural yoghurt with some honey and fresh fruit. When I travel I go for all 3 courses .. and I always check the desserts first. Lots …
