lens-artists photo challenge #56 seascapes/lakeshore

I spent most of my adult life at sea …. and I have also lived my adult life at places where the ocean docks.

For me there is only one ocean … it only that it is given different names depending on where it lays and docks.

“Beauty of expression is so akin to the voice of the sea.”
George Matthew Adams

Biarritz, France … sandy beaches, black rocks, fantastic food, friendly people, walking distance to everything in town and a living Atlantic ocean with many faces – this place own 90% of my heart. Love all seasons there. Been coming there since 1976, but my last visit was in 2008. Not because I’m not longing, because it’s so difficult to get there from Sweden. (September 2008)

“There is no new wave, only the sea.”

and brings eternal joy to the soul.”

The winter 2010-11 we had the last real winter here in Southern Sweden and Northern Germany was very wintery too, this image is taken from a moving car on the island of Rügen in the Baltic sea – on our way for a serious shopping day in Bergen (Febuary 2010)

“I am the shore and the ocean,
awaiting myself on both sides.”

Larrybane Quarry, Ballintoy – Northern Ireland and North Atlantic Sea on a misty a slightly wet day. A place that has been used many times in Game of Thrones. (May 2019)

  1. These seascapes are very beautifully captured. Such a magnificent capture of the North Atlantic Sea.
What a stunning ride, Viveka! Thank you so much for joining in!

  2. Oh my Viveka – you have captured some amazing vistas in this one. Your exploits around the world have provided you with an incredible archive ! I love all of these but the image of the winding road in Spain is my favorite this week

    • My friend only drive it in one direction (motorway the other direction … but so boring), it takes a lot of concentration to drive it – stunning views, the ocean, beaches and the mountains. My favorite too.
