my music moods (party time)

“A Little Party Never Killed Nobody”
Fergie

I wouldn’t say I’m a party animal …. but I enjoy a great party. In my great years were in 30 and 40, there was a lot of great parties. I miss them!!! I wonder why they have stopped, maybe it has to do with the age???!!!! I would love to let my hair down again and get those red heels out of the box.

What I have noticed is that it takes a lot less time to get ready for a party today then it did 40 years ago.

The songs I have picked here … is the ones that straight away get me into that fantastic mood … LET’S HAVE A GOOD TIME!!!

  • “Crazy in Love” is a song by American singer Beyoncé for her debut solo studio album Dangerously in Love (2003).
  • Jay-Z did the rap. He and Beyoncé were dating, which made it convenient for him to make many guest appearances performing his rap. When Beyoncé married the 12-years-older Jay-Z in 2008, the couple shared their first dance to “Crazy in Love.”
  • It was a number-one hit in the United States and the United Kingdom and reached the top ten in various other countries worldwide.
  • This was the only song to top the charts in both the UK and US in 2003.
  • “Crazy in Love” was re-recorded by Beyoncé for the film “Fifty Shades of Grey” (2015) this slowed-down version was produced by Boots with violin arrangements by Margot.
  • I lived in Belfast when this hit me …. and in those days it was more about work than party, but there was a couple of times when I let my hair down at some shady nightclubs on Shankhill Road … and I did it to this song.

“I look and stare so deep in your eyes
I touch on you more and more every time
When you leave, I’m begging you not to go
Call your name two or three times in a row
Such a funny thing for me to try to explain
How I’m feeling and my pride is the one to blame
‘Cause I know I don’t understand
Just how your love can do what no one else can”

  • “I Gotta Feeling” is the second single from The Black Eyed Peas’ fifth album The E.N.D., produced by French DJ David Guetta.  The song was released on June 23, 2009
  • The song was nominated for Record of the Year at the 52nd Grammy Awards and won the Grammy for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.[
  • “I Gotta Feeling” was 5th on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs of the Decade.
  • The Black Eyed Peas is an American musical group, consisting of rappers will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo and Jessica Reynoso.
  • In March 2011, it became the first song in digital history to sell over 7 million digital copies in the United States. As of June 2019, “I Gotta Feeling” has over 9 million downloads in the country, and it currently holds the record as the most downloaded song on iTunes of all time.
  • On September 8, 2009, the song was performed (with slight modification) by The Black Eyed Peas for the taping of the Kick-off Party for the 24th season of The Oprah Winfrey Show, with 21,000 fans performing a flash dance on the “Magnificent Mile” in Chicago.
  • I just had moved back to Sweden after 23 years aboard when this was released and I it played nearly every day on the highest volume while packing up my 72 removal boxes. Poor neighbours, but nobody complained.
  • This is for me is this the ultimate party song!!! Hard to stand still to this.

“I gotta feel
I gotta feeling, that tonight, that tonight
That tonight’s gonna be a good, good, good, good, good
Good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good
Good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good
Good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good night
I feel it, woohoo
I feel it, woohoo”

  • “Spirit in the Sky” is a song written and originally recorded by Norman Greenbaum and released in late 1969. The single became a gold record, selling two million copies from 1969 to 1970, and reached number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
  • Rolling Stone ranked “Spirit in the Sky” No. 333 on its list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
  • About the song, Greenbaum has been quoted as saying, “It sounds as fresh today as when it was recorded. I’ve gotten letters from funeral directors telling me that it’s their second-most-requested song to play at memorial services, next to ‘Danny Boy’.
  • When this song was popular was during my best single days …. was out dancing every free Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Single and free … it was all about enjoying myself and have a great time. Have so many fantastic memories connected with this song. It brings a big smile to me.

“When I die and they lay me to rest
Gonna go to the place that’s the best
When I lay me down to die
Goin’ up to the spirit in the sky
Goin’ up to the spirit in the sky
That’s where I’m gonna go when I die
When I die and they lay me to rest
Gonna go to the place that’s the best”

I hope got you in a party mood too …. !!! Let’s get ready!!!!
