I knew I was up for a treat over my Christmas in Kraków when I visit the hotel’s website – it was so inviting and it screamed to me … come and stay with us, let us treat you like a queen. And they did from the moment I open the door for the first time. All staff really made me feel special, very special.
I must admit that my room wasn’t like the ones on the website, but still beautiful, comfortable and so quiet and with a lovely view of the fruit garden of Stradom House and the old town. I was given room 15 on the first floor.

And I totally agree!!! They truly live up to their 9,5 score with Booking.com and on TripAdvisor #4 of 265 hotels in Krakow.
I booked my stay with Booking.com already in April and I paid the total up front to get the best deal on 5 nights with a fantastic breakfast and service: 3950SEK/€402/£355/$493.
My room so beautiful and comfortable, but there were missing plugs by the working desk???!!!! All because they have moved the desk to make the room more spacious, but nobody thought about getting plugs. It was fixed in a couple of minutes by one of the handsome and so help young men at the front desk. They had a whole storage box with adapters and extensions.
The bed was big and very comfortable, but maybe a bit hard for some – I like my bed hard. The bathroom I wanted to bring me home together with the young men at the front desk. The bathroom big with fantastic lighting … floor heating, lush thick with robes and a big great shower.
I must mention the young men at the front desk (again) .. all looking like they were cut out from a male fashion magazine, so handsome (all of them), so friendly, helpful and pleasant. Nothing was a problem and they were never stressed. We talked about everything. I wish I had let Oscar work a bit on them, but I totally forgot.
Now to the breakfast, one of the best – plenty of nicely presented dishes, cold and hot variety … Polish and international, plus the generous buffet there was also free freshly cooked add-ons – and also a la carte.
I love the freshly squeezed carrot juice that I mixed it orange juice, they had every morning except my last … I missed it. The sparkling wine on the ice every morning tasted good a real champagne. Coffee was very good for breakfast, but the instant coffee that was in the room were LETHAL!!!
Their restaurant, Amarylis is classed as one of the 100 top hundred in Poland. Lovely restaurant where also the breakfast was served.
On Christmas Eve, I dined at there … because 98% of all restaurants were closed. It was very busy and I think another waiter was needed because they were a bit stressed.
I went for the set 7-course tasting menu, Polish traditional Christmas dinner with a modern twist. There were dishes I really loved, but there were dishes that I didn’t agree with – but that was totally down to my personal taste – every dish was so beautifully presented, there was nothing wrong with any of dishes … and the desserts blow tights off me!!!!!
Had a lovely evening – my waiter made it very special, even if he was busy. He took his time to entertain me. *smile
I also tried the SPA one afternoon, for 1-hour deep massage. The young lady had very tough hands, a marvelous job she did – but it was very painful, but it was 1,5 years since I had a message last so my muscles were in a bad need of a good work-over, and she gave them to what I could handle. We talked about everything and she told me that her biggest dream was to be able to visit New York when I gave her the tip I said that it was for her first drink in New York. I really hope she will make it to New York one day.
To sum my stay up = top class!!!! That goes for absolute everything, but for the staff, I have to say: World-class service with a lovely friendly touch.
And what I loved most was that all staff (all I talked to) are so proud of their working place – how fantastic isn’t that????!!!. I know how important that is to be able to give a fantastic service and make the guests feel special. I was extremely proud of the company I worked for (37 years) and the people I worked with.
And that amazing Christmas present that was put in all rooms in the morning of Christmas Eve, with home-made chutney and marmalade … that thoughtfulness sums the hotel up. Everything delivered with proudness, passion and LOVE!
