one word photo challenge: silver

Silver!!!!!!?????  I thought I was going to have a hard time with this color – but when I started to look through my files – there is plenty and I decided leave out the moon.

Silver as a metal is something I warmed up to through the last 5 years, before it was only gold for me. Silver is a truly beautiful metal and it goes with everything. Today we can mix, that was a deadly sin when I was styled by my aunt Thea, as a teen. A very long time ago.

So here is a gallery with some silver through my blogging years – 2,5 years of silver lining.

“Too many people miss the silver lining
because they’re expecting gold.”

    • Jonathan, thank you so much for your lovely comment and for your visit. The silvery moon is truly beautiful, but I wanted to make it a little more difficult for myself. Not that I have that many great moon images.

    • Colleen, I was very close to buy the sculpture – they had an open air art exhibition on Union Sq. in Chicago – some stunning art, but I wouldn’t have problems with getting with me, it was heavy; a beautiful piece.

  1. I have always preferred silver to gold. Perchance it began as childhood conditioning as all Estonia’s national jewellery is in silver and most of our jewellery designers are indeed silversmiths. Am not a ‘jewellery’ person but still prefer that colour 🙂 ! Love your photos meanwhile!!!!

    • Thanks, Eha – I have always found silver to be very cold, but I have changed my mind. I have always liked silver jewelry but not on myself. I wear necklaces and rings … and sometimes when dressing up – nice earrings. Jewelry is not anything I use on every day basis. I can admire beautiful jewelry in shop windows … for ages.

    • Sylvia, thank you so much – yes, but even when I was young I wasn’t able to do that. *smile – today only the thought is very painful. *smile

  3. Gorgeous images Viveka! My favourites will have to be the lemon squeezer (looks so industrial) and the falling water (I can almost hear it!). Glad you have come to terms with silver 😉 . I love the quote too, btw.

  4. Funny I had the same thought when I saw the theme, circles and curves. I could probably post a second series of circle and curve photos, I have so many. I love all your silver photos but the wall decoration intrigues me.

    • Sorry, have missed your comment!!!
The wall decoration is something I met one evening walking home from the hospital after visiting my mum, must be 4 years ago .. I just loved how the shadow fall on the house’s wall. Thank you so much.

  5. I smiled because I remember the days when silver and gold couldn’t be mixed, Vivi 🙂
I spend ages ‘tweeking’ my galleries so I’m not sure if I could just leave it up to WP. I’ll have to try it sometime 🙂 Random hugs!

    • Jo, your galleries are fantastic … so why change something that works so good.
It takes time to … teek a gallery … to move around so the right photos get the right place in it. When I can’t get it right … I chose randomaand let it happen as it comes.

      • Jo, I think I’m more practical and innovative. Today is it a truly soaking wet Sunday … so I will not hug you hard this morning. *smile

      • Grey here so I’m writing my Monday walk, while the lads have their Sunday lie in. It was Mick’s birthday yesterday so we had a lovely meal out and he drank much wine! 🙂

      • How great isn’t that we can plane our walks … and do them sitting dry when it’s soaking wet outside.
Magical world .. the online world. Walk carefully. Give Mr a big Swedish birthday (day after) hug from me … because I think it cure him..
        Have a lovely walk *smile

      • He will be leaping about, Vivi! 🙂 Thank you for that.
Are you still struggling to sit at the computer for long with the sorry ass and the swollen ankles? I forget where you’re up to with the health issues, though I know you’ve got a new specialist.

      • Jo, my angles are swollen everyday more or less – so I sleep with my support tights, because during the summer – there is no way I can wear them. And I take a diuretic every 4th day, but that a I can leave the home for up to 4 hours. Not good for me to sit too long with my feet down by the computer, I get such pressure around the angles – it feels like my angles are going to burst.
My “sorry ass” is okay most days, but 2-3 times per week the problems is back it’s a burning hell, but a lot better than what it was.
That is why I’m not able to visit so much as I did before, because if I have done post – that is about it my body will give me of comfort, then the problems increase.
Thank you so much for asking and for caring. It means so much to me.

      • That’s pretty much how I thought it was, sweetheart. I guess I keep hoping for the miracle cure. Hugs, darlin!
The rain arrived, first class from Sweden, but I need to iron and do boring stuff anyway. Take care! 🙂

      • Jo, we have a lot more rain that we can send over … if you’re short of it.
Today isn’t fun anymore with this heavy and intense rain. Have you been able to take a walk today???
Today isn’t a good day for my wellbeing neither, so feed up with it. Going home tomorrow. Been visiting friends for 3 nights and collected a suitcase, mine are all damage from soot and smoke. So I have to borrow. Mondays hugs ….

      • It’s heading this way this afternoon, Vivi (the rain) but I was out this morning, on another lovely walk, which is why I’m late with my answer. Take care, hon. Hope you’re feeling a bit better by now.

      • I hope you have the same blue sky as I had for 3 days now – just magical – not a cloud in sight.
I will do some walking now for budget shopping. *smile
