we are all stars

in my book !!!!!! The world needs a loads of starlight and all together we can do the job.

When I started on my blog, I followed a good friend’s advice – but it turned out to be so much more for my visitors and followers – and for myself. It has been such education, especially when decided to jump on the A-Z blogging challenge 2012 and chosen my native home county as theme, Sweden.
That was a learning curve without limits – and there went in some deep research too – it took at times days to finish one post. I was quite new to blogging at that time, started in end of January and the A-Z challenge was in April.
It was then I realized that blogging was a lot more and that I had so much more to give then food, travel and descent photos.

Will do it again next year, with Sweden as my theme again. We are and we have so much to share with the rest of the world.

After I chosen my theme “Forever” (really a wedding theme, the closest I will get to a wedding of my own)  and I chose “Summer Afternoon” by the Danish pinter Peder Severin Kröyer as my headline  photo – have always loved this painting. And here we are – you and me.

I don’t try to be clever in my posts – I try to be me .. and give everything my angel on what I see, hear, eat, smell, touch and feel, because I have 6 senses.

Then of course I do it all my way …. on my Swenglish. As I say in “About Viveka”… not all is about me – but a lot are.

So when I was nominated to “The Blog of the Year Award 2012” I had to do a bit of soul searching, have received so many awards this year and I have been so thankful and honored over everyone, but they were raining over me and I lost track of them and I just gave up on it and never passed the last ones on. I know –NAUGHT  GIRL!

This “The Blog of the Year Award 2012” is something total new and I have decided to make a true afford and carry this one through. We will be collect stars .. and that job I find both sweet and interesting. For every nomination we get of this award – we get another star, no more than 6.

I have been nominated by Crazy Train To Tinky Town and here comes the rules, because there is always rules and that is the problem with me, that I’m so bad on following rules. Always have at least some toes outside the “law”

Here are the rules – and they are not mine.

1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award
2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.
3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award – and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)
4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them
5 You can now also join our Facebook page – click the link here ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Award and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience
6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…

And now to my much selected bunch of nominees – wish I could nominate all of you – after all are we all worth it. I have chosen my nominees, because they always take their time to read my posts, make a replay and they always replay on my comments, how stupied or wrongly spelled they ever may be. Because as I said – it is ALL about ME! Because I’m one of the brightest stars there is *laughter. And I’m not afraid of the darkness neither.

In no particular order.

  1. I’m so awed that you nominated ‘me’… how special is that? I say this in the softest, quietest way. I’m honored, Viveka… more than my words can say. Gloria/Granny Gee (Granny’s Colorful)

  2. Congratulations on your well deserved award, Viveka. You certainly are a bright and shining star in my eyes. I appreciate you nominating me as I see I’m among a lovely group of bloggers who really are stars as well.

  3. Congratulations to you, however I’m both honored and shocked …. after all, being the only guy on the list is both an honor and a shock. 😉 If memory correctly serves me, I think you dropped by my 1000th post celebration (but I’m not sure). Nonetheless, I’m glad our paths crossed!

  4. Beautifully presented, Viveka 🙂 I am very honoured by your nomination. Thank you so much for thinking of me. And good ol’ Chattermaster was another good choice – & Julie.

Wonderful choices and very nicely delivered 🙂 CONGRATS!!

  5. Viveka, what a beautiful gesture. Made my heart smile for sure and what lovely words to present it. Your way of expressing yourself makes you stand out as do the feelings behind the words. I too have been remiss in acknowledging the awards lately but I will definitely follow through on this one over the next few days. Thank you!

    • My pleasure – I know this with awards … so bad on following it through too. No rush and pressure – we live in free countries.
Million thanks for your so kind words and support.

  6. thank for the nomination viveka! Your blog is certainly the blog of the year. I have a quite busy baby-life now but I’m always coming back to your blog! thanks again!!

  7. Thank you Viveka… We are on the same page with the awards. Funny isn’t it. The first one we are screaming with happiness and have every rule met by the next post the next day. Then they come and it takes a little longer to get to… then it ends with a thank you and put on the someday list… I wish though I could communicate to every one that they all are very special, meaningful and honored.
So…. I will make an extra extra effort to pass this one on and I don’t have to say 15 things about myself so that should help 🙂
Some day I will give you a big hug in person! xo…. wt

    • Wendy, I’m so bad .. with the awards, but this is a little different – glad I’m not the only member in the club.
The rules are too demanding and as you say – how much is there to tell about us that hasn’t been said.
Wendy, some day I will collect that hug in person and I still want you to make those ricotta pancakes for me. *smile
Pity that Seattle is much further away then Hamburg. *little tear. There will be more about Seattle .. coming next week – and Stockholm tomorrow and Monday.

  8. Viveka, you are too, too kind. Blogger of the Year? And I am lumped into such a great group of nominees??–that is more than enough. Like you, I was excited when I first got awards on my previous blog (Stepping…) but then they started getting lost in the fray. Now, with my new blog, I thought I would stay under the radar–skip out on any awards. But no, I have gotten 3 in the past week or so. It is always a compliment, isn’t it, when they are received? But I haven’t decided what my awards policy is going to be on Vintage French Chic. You are making me think too hard! ; )

I have always loved the painting you have chosen for your header. And it truly is a perfect choice to represent your blog. You have a great way of creating a one on one feeling with anyone you come in contact. That is a gift and a lovely one you have decided to share. Merci, encore, ma chere. Heather

    • This with awards … is a bit tricky – because sometimes I think they are given, to just pass on without any thought and for just being passed on – to get ride off.
Heather, I have given it to you and you don’t have to do anything at all with it. No pressure what so ever. I chose to give the award to my most faithful, my special stars.
