over the weekend

We were lucky with weather again, was out and about with the little camera and here comes my catch. There is no really story attached to this collection – more than me walking around on the street of Simrishamn to look for objects – need a bit of training for my BIG journey in July – I’m a bit rusty – haven’t played around with a camera for a couple of years now. So I need to play around a bit more. The camera is fantastic, but I’m not pleased with the macro. Suppose I was spoiled with my old camera and all the fantastic lenses, but I don’t want to go down that road again – my life is built for comfort now.

Over the moon about that my little pigeon is back in her nest and on eggs again. Don’t know what happen earlier in the cold spring, she where gone for weeks. Now she is well protected with all leaves around her.

And the strawberries are blooming – that is very early so I don’t hope there will be any serious cold nights coming up, but I don’t think so – we are in the middle of May.
Also my first sailboat for this year … and a fishing boat on its way in just after noon on Monday with this week first catch. The cows are out on the fields and is a summer sign if none.

It was a fantastic weekend with loads of sun every day, even if the wind was a bit icy – Monday was like an early summer day and down by the ocean it was very pleasant sitting on the rock look out over the horizon – so peaceful and plenty time for thought about how good life really is.

Quite pleased with most of the photos – hope you will enjoy them too.

they look good from a distance
but disappear when you get up close to them.”

  1. HI,
Lovely photos. I was intrigued by the photo of the old tree, I clicked on it for the larger view, I love the way it looks against the cottage, it sort of makes you think of the cottage in the Hansel and Gretel stories. 🙂
It looks very peaceful down by the water, a lovely place to sit and relax.

    • Yes, that tree is a bit spooky – wonder how old it’s …. Amazing how it can grow like that when the pavement goes all the way up to the house. It must be pretty old – even if not so old as the cottage.
Amazing to look at – coming back here in 14 days’ time and then I will check if there is more flowers on it.
Mum lives only 5-6 min walk from the ocean.

      • That is fantastic that your Mum lives so close to the ocean, you can’t beat walking or just relaxing around the ocean, very nice. 🙂

      • Yes, it’s a must for me … to be where the ocean docks … it docks in Landskrona too – have about 15 min walk, not fare neither. Alwyas lived by the sea since 1963 in Sweden and abroad.

  2. Nature, both man made and natural was abundant in your photos – beautiful shots without a doubt my friend 🙂
Almost like another world to me!

    • You’re so kind – to cheer me on like this .. Thank you! It’s a bit like a fairy tale where mum lives … very small and pretty.

    • It’s very peaceful until June when the tourists starts coming and the place will be packed, but I found my little spot by ocean … I will go to now. Thanks for your kind words.

  3. Lovely pictures as always. It’s nice that your mom’s place is by the ocean. That’s the best spot in the world for me. It’s very healing! 😊 thanks for sharing Viveka 😊

  4. Lovely pictures, Viveka! How amazing that a warmer weather can bring out so many beautiful developments in a flash. Today was 32 degrees Celsius here. Can’t complain, finally enjoying the days without coat and jacket. 😉

    • It’s mum how lives here in Simrishamn and it’s a big fishing harbor – where I live do I have about 15 min walk to the seaside and we have a fishing harbor too outside the town. Lovely places both and plenty fresh fish and seafood.
