This is also one of my hidden music treasures – the soundtrack from TV-series “Doctor Who” – “A Christmas Carol” – it was in released in March 2011 in UK and November the same year in US. The wonderful opera singer Katharine Jenkins recorded it for her last album ”Daydream”, released in 2011 – and this the real thing – this is her singing. Katharine also did her acting debut in this particular episode of the TV series.
Katharine is one of my favorite singers and it’s not difficult to a fan of hers … after been listen to this track. Such talent singer and so beautiful too. Some just got it all on all the right places *smile – and there must be something in the water in Wales, UK … because all the big voices comes from there plus actors like Richard Burton and Anthony Hopkins, that are fantastic voices too.
Murray Gold has done both music and lyrics. It’s so stunningly beautiful … Enjoy!
Abigail’s Song (Silence Is All You Know)
“When you’re alone, silence is all you know.
When you’re alone, silence is all you know
Let in the noise and let it grow.
When you’re alone, silence is all you see
When you’re alone, silence is all you’ll be
Give me your hand and come to me.
When you are here, music is all around.
When you are near, music is all around.
Open your eyes, don’t make a sound.
Let in the shadow, let in the shadow,
Let in the light of your bright shadow.
Let in the shadow, let in the shadow.
Let in the light of your bright shadow.
Let in the light.
Let in the light.
Let in the light of your sweet shadow.
When you’re alone, oh,
Silence is all you know.
Silence is all,
Silence is all around.
Silence is all
Silence is all around”

AMAZING – thank you!
My pleasure, Julie.
She is fabulous … and sings well too!
What a musical gift she shares with us!
Yes, she has gifts on more places than her voice. Just love her.
And she can dance!
I sure she can … never seen her dance.
those are beautiful words Viveka. I can see why you like it
Thank you for introducing me to Katherine Jenkins. Such a beautiful voice. I hadn’t heard of her before. I haven’t heard of the t.v. series either. I’ll have to look for that.
“Dr Who” isn’t my type of show … but this piece of music was created for it – and I absolute adore it. I will produce a CD with my “cloud of music” from my posts lately – and send to my faithful friends here. She has the most wonderful voice.
Viveka, you once told me that you weren’t into poetry, but music its lyrics are poetry. Beautiful one, thanks for sharing it with us.
Yes, lyrics in music I listen a lot to – but I can’t get my head around reading with the music to go with it. I thought you would like this one … I can’t understand those who doesn’t – so beautiful and her voice. Thank you, Lori
That’s beautiful my friend, I remember it (ardent dr who fan!)
Cheers

I’ve been having a conversation with http://breathelighter.wordpress.com/2012/10/01/searching-for-a-cooler-climate-leads-to-the-santa-barbara-bowl-and-crosby-stills-and-nash/
about music I find annoying. I’d forgotten Katherine Jenkins! Her voice really gets on my nerves
But I’m happy that you like her.
Tilly, we can’t all love the same artists and music .. *smile
I think she are a fantastic singer and I love this song.
