This is one of my favorite moments with Swedish Television in the early 70th – Dean Martin Show – it was one of my favorite programs for many years and what I loved about it was that Dean Martin never knew what his guests were up to. He never rehearsed his shows.
This episode has stayed with me for all those years – it is really world class and Foster Brooks are marvelous – I am sure if you’re in my age you will remember this one – for my younger visitors … you have missed a piece of TV history. It’s so good … been watching it at youtube for a couple of years now – I just love it! So I made my mind up .. to post it tonight.
when i was young, i remember my parents watching that show each week, and i would think it was awful. i only learned to appreciate his music as i got middle aged, now i am in love with his voice. another group my mother loved was called The Ink Spots. have you ever heard of them?
No I have never heard about that group – I always love Dean Martin … his humor and his voice. I wasn’t old when the showed his shows in Sweden, just around 20, but I watched them every week and so did mum.
I’ve never seen this before. It was hilarious.
Absolute brilliant … I remember when I saw it on TV – wasn’t old .. but I still laugh so I cry when I see it.
